Swedish steel is regarded as some of the best in the world and Gransfors Bruks of Sweden the best axes. Each one is hand forged and the smith who makes it stamps his initials on the axe head. They get such a good finish that they don't need to grind and paint them. Each one comes with an attached 'axe book' which is a good read in itself. It also has a picture of all the smiths in so you can see the bloke who made your axe. They all look pretty miserable, obviously don't like being dragged away from forging. They come razor sharp except the froes and are guaranteed for 20years
